Gameplay Features
Swiste's mechanics are built around the flooded machine city's hidden infrastructure.
Submerged Circuitry
Manipulate the city's electrical grid by redirecting water flow through ancient conduits. Every junction becomes a puzzle in energy routing.
Floodshift
Alter water levels in real-time to reveal submerged pathways, activate dormant machinery, and change the vertical landscape of the city.
Echo Sonar
Use acoustic pulses to map the invisible geometry of the flooded ruins, detecting hidden doors, moving platforms, and pressure traps.
Exploring the Depths: Your Questions About Floodware
From energy routing to dynamic weather, get the key details about our puzzle-adventure through a flooded machine city.
How does the 'Energy Routing' mechanic work in practice?
Players use the Resonant Key to visualize the dormant power grid. The core loop involves diverting energy from active generators through corroded conduits, bypassing breaks by activating switching stations. Successfully routing power restores ancient machines, which drain sectors of water, open locked doors, or reconstruct bridges. Mastering the flow is the key to vertical exploration.
Does the environment change during a play session?
Profoundly. The city exists in a state of flux driven by your actions on the Power Grid and the daily Weather Engine. Restoring power permanently alters the landscape. Concurrently, storm surges and electrical storms change water levels and conductivity, temporarily creating or closing paths, making the city feel alive and responsive.
What types of puzzles exist beyond the primary mechanic?
Puzzles branch into Environmental Reconstruction (salvaging parts to build solutions), Signal Decoding (interpreting the city's datasphere to unlock secrets), and Pressure Management (balancing water and electrical forces to traverse hazards). The game constantly introduces new constraints on the core routing idea.
Is there a strong narrative, or is the focus purely mechanical?
Narrative is woven into the mechanics. The reason the city fell is found in logbooks of previous engineers. The machines you rebuild hold memories. Your choices in which districts to power influence the story's reveal. The ending depends on how deeply you investigated the city's secret history versus how quickly you restored its core functions.
What post-launch features can the community expect?
Our roadmap includes a 'Procedural District' with randomized energy puzzles ensuring replayability. We are also developing a 'Speedrunner's Grid' mode tracking routing efficiency with leaderboards. Community feedback from our playtests is instrumental in shaping the priority of these features.
The flood is not the obstacle. It is the mechanic.
Route water through forgotten switchworks, re-align submerged architecture, and coax a drowned city’s logic back into motion — one puzzle at a time.
